Sealcoat is an environmentally safe, cold-pour material consisting of emulsified asphalt, oil, aggregate, colorants, fillers, and co-polymers.  Sealcoat replaces fine-rock materials and oils that have been stripped from the surface of the pavement through oxidation and erosion.  It also fills in many of the voids created on the surface of the asphalt pavement from wear, while simultaneously creating a protective barrier.  This form of protection ultimately extends the life of the asphalt.

GPM’s decades of experience confirms sealcoat works well in a variety of environments, with a lower cost per square foot, when compared to many other methods and products.  GPM manufactures its own proprietary brand of sealcoat, GFS.  This product is an asphalt based sealcoat designed to protect and increase overall aesthetic value of any asphalt surface. GFS fills minor voids, inhibits aggregate loss, restores color, and extends pavement life.

GFS is the product of choice for parking lots, private streets, runways, playgrounds, driveways, bike paths, walkways, and other asphalt surfaces.

What is sealcoat?
Sealcoat is an asphalt based emulsion designed to protect and beautify asphalt parking lots, streets, walkways, playgrounds, and runways.
Why should I sealcoat my asphalt?
Simple answer is Cost & Appearance. Sealcoat provides a protective wearing surface and inhibits asphalt erosion. The cost of sealcoat is a fraction of the cost for repairing cracks and structural failures. Sealcoat also provides a jet black, attractive “welcome mat” for your property.
Are all sealcoats the same?
No. Sealcoat applications (and performance) greatly vary depending upon material manufacturer, application method, thickness, and numerous other factors. Consult your GPM professional to select the best solution for your property.
One coat or two?
Most projects merit two coats. Aside from the obvious advantage of receiving more material on the ground, the second coat is typically about 1/3 the cost of the first coat. Two coat applications last 3-5 times longer than single coat applications.
How often should I sealcoat?
Depending upon usage and traffic patterns, most asphalt surfaces should be sealed (2 coats) every 3-5 years.
